Essential Travel Tips & Guidelines

  • Dress Code Requirements: Modest attire is strictly enforced when visiting religious and historical sites (Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Temple of Literature, Tran Quoc Pagoda). Shoulders and knees must be fully covered for both men and women.
  • Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Notice: The Mausoleum is closed on Mondays and Fridays, as well as during annual maintenance (usually October to November). On these days, visits are conducted from the outside along with surrounding gardens.
  • Museum Schedules: On Mondays, when the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology is closed, the tour typically substitutes the visit with the Women’s Museum or Hoa Lo Prison Relic.
  • Footwear Recommendation: Comfortable, closed-toe walking shoes or sneakers are essential as there will be plenty of walking throughout the day.
  • Sun & Weather Protection: Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and an umbrella or rain jacket during rainy seasons.
  • What to Pack: A small daypack, camera/smartphone, reusable water bottle, and small cash (VND) for personal expenses or souvenirs.
